THe Love Of Music
Is In Everything I do
Even as a young child, I can remember the clicks and pops of the vinyl records playing on our family record player. My parents would play the classics and we would all take turns dancing the latest jigs. I fell in love with music way back then, but I quickly realized it wasn’t just the music that captivated my heart, it was the imperfect perfections of vinyl and the way it graced a needle and became the most joyous sounds in the world.
My desire to deejay isn’t derived from a need for attention or from a yearning to be the main attraction. No, no! It’s my process that I love. What drives me to be so meticulous and tedious with my display of doowop is the nostalgia and satisfaction it brings to those who hear it… who remember it and love everything it represents. Times were so different back in the old days, but we’re still the same people. So, I play it the old way. The real way! I play the sounds you grew up listening to and I help you relive the experience of your youth by playing ONLY original vinyl 45’s! Book me and see what all the fuss is about!
We play the original vinyl recordings that we bought back in the 50’s and early 60’s. All records are cleaned before every show that we play at.
Cleaning the vinyl before use allows us to keep the grooves clean of all foreign material, thereby preserving our diamond head needles from unusual wear.
Each record played at an event, we give a brief narrative of release date, how many weeks it might have spent in positions #1, #2 or #3 on the charts. Also anything about the song or the artists.
Use of a Bose Speaker System, allows for a crisp clarity of both music and vocals. It also allows us not to have to high of volume. The sound travels exceptionally well so everyone can enjoy the sound effects of each recording.
DO you wanna dance?
I play the hits that’ll make you spin
Before every show, I carefully select vinyl 45’s that have been requested by my listening audience or venue. Then I go through a arduous process of cleaning each and every record that I’ll use in the show so that it performs in a pristine manner. When those sounds of the oldies start bellowing from the speakers, you’ll instantly go back to a time when you remember hearing the same tunes as hits on the radio. You’ll start to dance. Your friends will start to dance. Before long the place will erupt in memories of times past where life was great and the music was even better.
